Creating a Percussion Stave with a Pre-Defined Percussion Map. Creating a percussion stave in the first place is the easy part. First of all, Finale offers a wide variety of Percussion Maps (or templates) which already set up the correct instruments to play in the proper place on the stave.

May 17,  · The staff will include bass drum, hand clap, and tambourine. For this example, I will use Garritan Instruments for Finale, but after learning how to create your own custom Percussion Layout, you may use whatever sound library you like.

Glenn Steele Finale Concert Snare Drum Sticks were designed by Glenn Steele of Temple University and are sold exclusively through Steve Weiss Music. This stick should be your drum stick of choice when a full warm sound is called for. Designed to the precise specifications of Glenn Steele, the Finale is well suited for most orchestral work.

Percussion music used to be notated in bass clef, even though it is unpitched. This was a constant source of frustration for percussionists who were constantly struggling to tune their snare drums to an E and their bass drums to a low A. Okay maybe that last part isn't exactly true, but why would you use a specifically pitched clef for non-pitched instruments?
